SUSTAINABILITY

You better bee-live it

We’ve officially welcomed thousands of tiny, winged team members to our offices, by introducing our very first beehives as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting local biodiversity.

The “Why” Behind the Buzz

Manufacturing and production take up physical space, but we believe our sites should give back to the local ecosystem. Bees are essential pollinators, yet their natural habitats are under constant threat. By utilising the unused green spaces around our offices, we saw a simple, high-impact opportunity to support local nature right in our own backyard.

Sustainability was at the heart of this project from the very beginning. Using reclaimed wood from shipping pallets, our team designed and built the beehives by hand, giving unwanted materials a new lease of life and providing the bees with a truly sustainable home from day one.

And because we love pairing good initiatives with great partners, the first two hives were created for Tony’s Chocolonely and Surreal, using waste materials from recent projects.

We introduced the hives into the peaceful woodland area surrounding Valley HQ. Which turns out, is prime bee real estate!

Thriving beyond expectations

Safe to say, the bees approve of the new setup. The colony has settled in so well that they’re thriving way faster than we anticipated.

Seeing a sustainability project take off this fast is incredibly rewarding. Our new residents are happy, healthy, and hard at work making the surrounding woodland a little greener every day.

It’s proof that small steps for biodiversity can yield huge results….not to mention the tasty honey!
